Jan. 23, 2018 KATHRON GUYOTT, 93 Kathron M. Guyott, 93, passed peacefully on Jan. 19, 2018, at Emerald Meadows Assisted Living in Grand Rapids. She was born on July 9, 1924, in Grand Rapids to Wallace and Anna Eldred. The family moved to Saginaw in the early 1940s. Kathron graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. Kathron pursued a career in teaching. She graduated college with a bachelor degree from Central Michigan University and a masters degree from the University of Michigan. Kathron taught first grade fro 36.5 years of which 20 plus years of teaching first grade was in the Midland Public-School System at Chestnut Hill elementary. In her lifetime, Kathron taught over 2,000 children how to read. She was also a curriculum teacher for CMU. She is one of the oldest members of Delta Kappa Gama (teaching Sorority) in Michigan with over 62 years as a member. After retiring from teaching, kathron was a yellow lady at the Midland Hospital for several years until she moved to Morrison lake, Saranac Michigan to be close to her daughter's family and take care of her beloved grandson Colin. In her retirement she traveled the world. Kathron was married, first to Glen Anschuetz and lastly to Thomas Guyott. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husbands, sister, brother-in-law and brother, sister-in-law and two nephews. She is survived by daughter Carol Lomas (Dan Lomas) of Saranac and step-daughter Kthy Rakowski (Gary Rakowski) of Midland. Also remaining are four grandchildren Colin Lomas of Saranac, Heidi and Richard Harnois of Midland, and Holly Strassburger of Gurnee, Ill. She has four great-grandchildren Hope Harnois, Jake Harnois, Hannah Strassburger and Olivia Strassbuger, all of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A service will be held at the Chapel at Roselawn Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018. Those planning an expereesion of sympathy are asked o consider Faith Hospice.
