Interment will be in Easton cemetery. He was admitted to the home June 25 following a stroke but previously resided at 678 West Main Street. He was born September 14, 1881 in Maple Valley township, Montcalm County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Haagen. Mr. Haagen received his early education at the Dixon school in Kent County. He came to Ionia from Lakeview following his marriage to Viola Bishop. Mrs. Haagen died 23 years ago. He followed the trade of a stone mason and for many years was employed by Banhagle Construction Co. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Louise DeYougn of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Marie Bensinger of Greenville; one brother, Herman Haagen of Trufant, and several nieces and nephews.
