Ley Haarman, 90, entered eternal life Thursday, March 28, 2002. Born May 2, 1911, in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; daughter, Suzanne Moser; daughter-in-law, Beth Lalley Haarman She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary An and John Gugg; four sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Carol, David and Nancy, Tom and Mary Helen, Dan and Gloria; son-in-law, Gary Moser; 22 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish for more than 55 years. She was a member and past president of the St. Thomas Alter Society and Women’s Guild. She was a member and past president of the Saint Mary Hospital Guild. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 1449 Wilcox Park Drive SE, Grand Rapids. Father James A. Chelich will preside. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Family members will greet friends at the church an hour prior to services. No other visitations will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Human Development Outreach/Meals Programs or St. Thomas the Apostle Educational Foundation.
