Ionia County News, 6 Jan 1938

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Haas of Saranac, were held Saturday from her 
home at Saranac.  Mrs. Haas died late Wednesday evening following a two week’s 
illness.  She was born 52 years ago in DeWitt, Ill., and moved to Saranac six 
years ago from Tremaine’s Corners.  She also formerly lived at Portland.

Surviving are her husband George, a son, Albert of Cola, Iowa; two daughters, 
Mrs. Violet Way of Saranac and Miss Irene Haas of Chicago; three brothers, 
Peter Gubi of New York, Jack Gubi of Santa Anna Calif., and Henry Gubi of 
Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Gass of DeWitt, Ill., and Mrs. Helen Sparrey 
of Chicago. 

Burial was in the Portland cemetery.
