Haberstumpf, 81, of 468 King street, Ionia, died unexpectedly in her sleep about 4 a.m. Sunday. Due to the absence of both Ionia county coroners, Justice of the Peace R. H. Dodes was called to the home at 8:40 a.m. Death was due to a heart attack, he said. A daughter of George and Eva Wachter, she was born August 16, 1876 in Barry county and was married to John Haberstumpf September 25, 1895 in Woodland. She had resided in Ionia more than 60 years. Mrs. Haberstumpf was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid society of the church. Surviving are her husband, John; a son, Alfred of Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Luella Cole of Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Orlinger of Woodland and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Boynton funeral home with the Rev. Theodore Timler, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
