Portland Observer, 16 Mar 1939

A former resident of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Anna Hackenbruch, 84, died Sunday 
afternoon at the home of her son, Joseph Hackenbruch, on the west side, after 
having been ill for a short time with influenza.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the St. Mary’s church in Grand 
Rapids, where the deceased was a member of the Altar society.  Interment was in 
Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Surviving are three sons, Joseph of Portland, Rudolph of Grand Rapids, and Emil 
of Detroit.  There are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
