The Ionia Standard, Friday, August 25, 1911
Charles Hacker, one of the esteemed residents of the German settlement on Hill 
street, just off of North Jefferson street, died this morning at 4 o’clock, at 
the age of 58 years.  He had been resident of Ionia some twenty-five years, 
and is survived by the wife and three children; two sons, Herman and Emil, and 
one daughter, Anna, Mrs., William Dreger.  The funeral will be attended, from 
the late home at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2 o’clock at the Lutheran 
church.
