Ionia County News, 10 Apr 1947

Eugene Arthur Hackett, 77, died Monday, April 7, in Ionia County Memorial
hospital and funeral was held from Stone’s Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Hackett was born in Orange township, May 30, 1869 and spent most of his life
in the Tremayne’s Corners section.  He operated a grocery store and later a farm
implement store at the Corners.

In February, 1889, he was married to Luella Harwood of Berlin township, who
survives him.  He also leaves three sons, Eugene and Forrest Hackett of Ionia
and Donald of Lansing; a brother George Hackett of Ionia, and several
grandchildren.

[Transcribers Note: There is a notation on the obituary card that he was buried
in Highland Park Cemetery.]
