Norma J. Hackett, 74, of 39 Belhaven, Belding, died Saturday at St. Mary’s
Hospital in Grand Rapids.  Born at Comstock Park September 15, 1898, she was the
daughter of Peter and Effie Elkins.  Her husband Edward K. Hackett died in 1959.
 She was a member of First Congregational church of Belding, Doric chapter Order
of Eastern Star of Belding, the XYZ club and Birthday club.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marion Whitford of route 2, Belding; two sons,
Robert Burt of West Palm, Fla., Thomas Burt of Belding; 11 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Naomi Sparks of Belding and brother, Craig
Elkins of Belding.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Huffman funeral home in
Belding.  Rev. Richard Bayles and Doric chapter OES will officiate.  Interment
will be at River Ridge cemetery.  Visitation hours will be Monday from 7 to 8:30
p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established for First
Congregational church building fund and contributions may be left at the funeral
home.  Bearers will be Douglas Burt, Gregory Burt, Thomas Traynor, Theodore
Albert, Jr., Terry Sweet and Peter Armsby?.
