He had been unconscious since Tuesday. Taken to a Grand Rapids hospital 14 weeks ago for an operation for relief of the infection, Mr. Hackett was unable to overcome the ravages of the disease. Born in Berlin township, January 19, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hackett, now of Ionia, Mr. Hackett attended Ionia schools and was a graduate of the Ionia high school. Since that time he has been associated with his father in the Hackett Implement store in Ionia. He was married to Vivienne Bowker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bowker, of Ionia, April 7, 1924. They have since lived in Ionia. Besides the widow Mr. Hackett is survived by a two-year-old daughter, Katherine Olive; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hackett, of Ionia; a sister, Mrs. Harold Lampkin, of Ionia; and a brother, Fred Hackett, also of Ionia. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Myers funeral home at 148 East Main street. The body may be viewed at the Myers funeral home until 2:15 o’clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. Paul L. Stewart, of Ionia, will officiate and interment will be at the Highland Park cemetery in Ionia.
