Hackett, 77, 519 State street, died at his home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock after being seriously ill since March 1. Mr. Hackett has been in poor health for ten years. He was born in Orange township, December 7, 1870, the son of John and Katherine Hackett. He resided on the farm where he was born until 1924 when he moved to Ionia. The deceased resided 11 years in the State street home. He leaves three sons, Bert J. and Lee L. of Ionia and Edward K. of Belding; one daughter, Mrs. Clare Baker, of Orange; two grandchildren, Mrs. Fred Simmons of Belding and William Baker of Ferndale; five great-grandchildren; one nephew, John Hacket of Birmingham; and a niece, Mrs. William Powell, sr., of Ionia. Mr. Hacket was a member of SS Peter and Paul church where services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
