Ionia Standard – Friday, 24 January 1896
Lena Hackett died about 7 o’clock a.m. Wednesday.  She has been in poor health 
for two or three years, and for several months it has been evident that 
recovery was impossible.  She would have been 22 years old in about one 
month.  She was a lovely girl, with a large circle of friends who deeply mourn 
her untimely departure.  

The funeral of Miss Lena Hackett will be attended from her late home, corner 
of High and Harter streets, at 2 pm on Saturday.  Rev. W. H. Thomas, D. D., 
will conduct the services, and interment will be in Highland Park.
