His neighbors noticed the lights on in both the house and the barn and investigated. Coroner Dale Kauffman said death was due to a heart attack. He was born January 11, 1884 in Charing Cross, Canada. He was married in 1908 to Ethel Carter at South Haven. Surviving are two sons, Dale of Niles, and Walter, stationed with the United States Air Force in England; two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Castetter of Lansing, and Mrs. Catherine Keeley of Flint, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Perry of Plymouth. Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir, the Rev. Richard Kidder of Lyons will officiate and burial will be at the Muir Oakwood cemetery.
