It was that Grace Haddow was dead. Her parents had hoped to the very last that she might be spared to reach home, but such was not the case. She said, just before she died: "I am going home, but not to Michigan." The remains reached here Saturday, accompanied by a cousin; funeral services held Sunday at regular hour at the Baptist church, which was very largely attended, a good many being unable to even stand inside the church. Grace's entire life had been spent in Palo and vacinity, she was one of the first class that graduated from our school under Prof. Smith. She was of kind disposition, a thorough student and above all a pure devoted Christian. The parents feel their loss most keenly and have the sympathy of all. The church was very appropriately decorated and Elder Munger showed in his sermon how truly he felt the loss of so faithful a member of his flock. Additional Comments: Burial in Palo Cemetery.
