She was born in Berlin township, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stencel. She had lived in her present home 46 years. She married Karl Hafner October 22, 1895 and he died September 9, 1945. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church and a member of the Ladies Aid society of the church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Dean of Ionia and Mrs. Herman Stanke of Flint; four sons, John and Theodore of Lansing and Herman and Clarence of Ionia; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Stncel, of Easton; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Zanto, of Berlin. Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. following prayer services at the Boynton funeral home for the family at 2 p.m. The Rev. R.A. Rook will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery. The body will repose at the Boynton funeral home until time of service.
