Lake Odessa Wave-Times October 7, 1926

ONE OF THE BUILDERS OF LAKE O PASSES
One by one the Old Builders Pass and the New Ones Take Places.Grandpa Hager 
Gone.

One of the earliest promotors and investors in the village of Lake Odessa passed 
away last week at Hastings. Grandpa Hager, as he was familiarly called was a 
prominent man. in this village 25 years or more ago.

One of the land marks left of his handiwork is the house now owned and occupied 
by Samuel Velte, cashier of theFarmers and merchants Bank. This house was 
purchased from Mr.Hager by Dr.Chas. N.Snyder, long since passed away and from 
this estate it comes into the hands of Mr.Velte.

Mr.Hager was buried last Monday at Hastings. he was tenderly cared for by his 
wife and his daughter, Ena. He was 98 years of age, thus being an old man while 
living in Lake Odessa.
