Hagerman died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fanning, 227 Pleasant street, at 7:10 Sat. morning. He was ordained as a Baptist minister, two or three years ago, and held a charge for one year at Holton, Muskegon county, one year at Sebewa, and had accepted a call to Edmore, where he was about three months, when he was taken sick and resigned. He was at the Soldiers’ Home, Grand Rapids, for a time, but came here a few weeks ago, to be with wife and daughter during the last few days of life. He served during the civil war in the 91st Indiana infantry, and was a member of W. H. Borden post, who will have part in the funeral services, to be held at the home, at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by Rev. E. E. Branch. Interment, Highland Park. Subsequent Publication, date unknown The funeral of Rev. J. J. Hagerman, held at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. Fanning, Monday p.m. was well attended. The service was by Rev. E. E. Branch, and had the singing by Mrs. E. Smith and Mrs. H. E. Spencer. The ritual service of the G.A.R. was conducted at the house, and the bearers, selected from the post, were: J. H. Laden, M. H. Amphlett, Jas. Greenman, Wm. Normington, J. Bessey and A. F. Clark. Services were in charge of N. L. Brookins as officer of the day. Interment was in Highland park.
