March 3, 1980 ANNA S. HAHN LANSING - Anna S.Hahn, 103, of W. Lapeer Street in Lansing, died Saturday evening in a Lansing nursing home. She was born July 16, 1876, in Leukirch, Germany, the daughter of Martin and Susanna (Gabrie) Hessler. She came to this country at 21 and settled in Pennsylvania. In 1903, she moved to Michigan, and married Max Huhn Aug. 25, 1903 in Lansing. The Hahns moved to Ionia shortly after they were married, and became longtime residents of the area. Mrs. Hahn was a member of St.Johns Lutheran Church in Ionia, and was active in ladies aid. On Mrs. Hahn's 100th birthday, the Mayor of Lansing issued a proclamation honoring her. She was preceded in death by her husband. Mrs.Hahn is survived by two sons, Irwin of Lansing, and Clarence of Belding; three daughters, Mrs.Frank (Mildred) Simmons, Lansing, Mrs. Irene Connor, Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Floyd (Ann) Whittington, Ionia; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ionia, with the Rev. Leo Kostizen officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Leddick Funeral Home Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made out to St. Johns Lutheran Church and St.Johns Lutheran School.
