Employed by the Michigan department of prisons for almost half a century, with 16 of those years as deputy warden at the Ionia Reformatory, Haight’s services were conducted by the reformatory chaplain, Dr. Paul L. Stewart. Interment was in Ovid cemetery. Mr. Haight died at his home Friday morning about 9:40 o’clock. Serving as his bearers were Joseph Powell, Albert F. Schieble, Ralph Lee and James O’Connor. The officers of the Elks attended his services in a group. When he was removed to Ovid for interment only the necessary flowers were taken. The balance were distributed through the County Memorial hospital, the Ionia Convalescent home, and the county farm, as was his request. Those relatives attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Haight and son, Louis Jr. of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Beahan, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Haight, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beahan, Miss Marjorie Beahan and Robert Beahan, of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Haight, of Ann Arbor; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cross, of Flushing; the Rev. Fr. Hugh Beahan, of Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. W. Davanzati, of Charlotte; and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Beahan of Carson City.
