Frances Irene Haines, 78, of Belding, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Sept.
 8, 2009 at her home.  Irene was born Jan.  5, 1931 in New Haven, the daughter
of John and Nellie Williams Henry.  She was a longtime member of the Sheridan
VFW-Ladies Auxiliary, the Friendship Club, the Smyrna Social Club and Smyrna
Bible Church.  Irene enjoyed square dancing, going to the music in the park
concerts in Belding and spending time with her grandchildren.  Irene always had
a kind word for everyone and was a good Christian woman.

She was married on Oct.  7, 1956 in Belding to Marvin Haines, and he preceded
her in death on May 28, 2006.  Irene was also preceded by her parents and 9
brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her children, Robert Haines of Belding
and Tammy Jo (John) Foley of Grand Rapids; 3 grandchildren, Christine, John III
and Jessica and 1 sister, Annie Grimwood of Charlotte.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Smyrna Bible Church with Pastor
Mike Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.  Visitation
will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home,
Belding.  Memorial contributions may be given to Smyrna Bible Church or the
American Diabetes Association.
