Pauline was reunited with her husband Charlie who preceded her in death in 1994. She was born May 28, 1928 in Belding, MI the daughter of Arthur and Jessie Bradford. Her three siblings; Maxine Nobis, Alma Scheid, and Arthur Bradford preceded her in death. Pauline graduated from Belding High School in 1942, and met and married Charles Haines while working in Detroit for the Murray Company. Daughter, Susan (Scott) Hawley was born in Detroit and son, Kenneth (Sara) Haines in Ionia MI where they lived continuously in the home they built together in 1957. While living in Ionia she worked for several years at the office of Dr. James Green and subsequently at the Michigan Training Unit from which she ultimately retired in 1986. Pauline enjoyed traveling, needle point projects, playing Bridge with friends, baking for loved ones, and especially attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She also loved singing in the choirs at the First United Methodist Church in Ionia and the Chapel at Porter Hills. After Charlie’s death Pauline lived for several years at the Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, MI where she met many new friends and enjoyed numerous community activities. She will be forever missed by her children and their spouses; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Psciuk, Nathan Hawley, Rebecca (Kevin) Gleason, Christopher Haines, and Katie Haines; as well as three great- grandchildren Landon Psciuk, Brayden and Liam Gleason. along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services in celebration of Pauline’s life will be held at Porter Hills Chapel at 3600 Fulton St. E, Grand Rapids, MI on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 3pm. Visitation will be from 2-3pm prior to services. Interment at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ionia, MI. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Pauline’s name for the Porter Hills Foundation and the Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
