The Portland Observer, Thursday, December 19, 1940

Herman Edd Hair, 64, who was born and raised in Portland, died a few days ago 
in Akron, Ohio.  Mr. Hair attended school in Portland when a boy, and the 
family resided on the west side.  Later they located in Lansing and Herman 
went from that city to the Ohio rubber center, where he was employed as a 
machinist.  He suffered an injury in the shop and his death was attributed to 
this.

Rollen Hair, a brother, is a resident of Lansing, and a sister, Mrs. Dale 
Strohl, lives in Beaver Falls, Pa.  The widow also lives in Lansing.
