Mrs. Hale was born April 12, 1931 in Hastings, the daughter of Russell T. and Irene O. (Kaiser) Craven. She married Eldon Hale June 30, 1951 in Muir. Mrs. Hale is survived by one daughter, Barb C. Hollis of Grand Rapids; two sons, Terry L. Hale of Ionia and Bruce K. (Connie) Hale of Ionia; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris I. Lumbert of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two brothers, Dic I. (Alice) Craven of Hastings and Lawson (Linda) Craven of Saranac. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon L. Hale on Jan. 29, 1994. Mrs. Hale has been a longtime resident of the Ionia area where she owned and operated Rose Bud Cakes for many years. In addition, she operated a foster home for many years also. She enjoyed playing the dulcimer and was a member of the Grand Valley Artist Association, the I.C.E.S., and was superintendent of the art department for the Ionia Free Fair for many years. At the request of the family, there will not be any visitation held. Memorial services will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment at Sunny Hill Cemetery, Fenwick. The family is being served by the Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home of Sheridan.
