Burch, one half mile west of Lyons, on Thursday evening, Feb. 26th, 1920, after a short illness; leakage of the heart causing death. She was 73 years of age. Frances Rebecca Messer was born February 19, 1847, in Salisbury township, Lehigh county, Penn. In 1856 she moved with the family to a farm near Tiffin, Ohio. In 1866 they moved to a farm one and one half miles north of Hubbardston, and in August 1873, she was united in marriage to Hezkiah Clinton Hale at Maple Rapids. They resided on a farm four miles north and two miles east of Pewamo, where Mr. Hale passed away in July, 1906. Deceased came to Lyons to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Burch, in 1908, and continued to reside there until death came last week. She is survived by one daughter, three sons, five sisters, two brothers, three grandchildren, two step- daughters and two step-sons. Private funeral services were held from the home of Chas. Burch Monday, March 1st, at 12 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease. Mrs. A.E. Bradt furnished music. Interment in the East Plains cemetery.
