Ionia Sentinel Standard, 26 May 1984

Cleo V. Hale, 88, of Ionia, died Friday morning at Butterworth Hospital in 
Grand Rapids.  She was born in Kansis, Ohio, on March 15, 1896, the daughter of 
Frank and Dora Byers Grove.  She attended schools in Gobles, Mich., and Lyons 
High School.

She married Laurence I. Hale on November 21, 1917, in Detroit.  They made their 
home in Ionia all their married life.  He operated the Hale Mill in Ionia with 
his father, and after his father’s death, by himself.  He preceded her in death 
on April 28, 1952.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Audrienne) Andres of Ionia; two 
grandchildren, Audrienne Andres Lynch and Laurence Andres, both of Ionia; and 
four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral 
Home with Rev. Thomas Bolster of SS Peter and Paul Church officiating.  
Interment will be in Lyons Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home 
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
