Ionia Sentinel Standard, 11 May 1966

One of Ionia’s oldest residents, Perry Frank Hale, 94, died Tuesday at the
Bide-A-Wee rest home in Belding where he resided for the past two years.  He was
born December 17, 1871 in Orleans township, the son of Andrew J. and Mary Jane
Hale.  In 1894, he married Lulu Shuart, who died in 1938.  He married Florence
Whipple in 1946.  Mr. Hale was a retired farmer, and member of the Maccabee
Lodge.  One daughter, Leone Garrett, died in 1952.

He is survived by his wife, Florence, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Snyder of
Marshall, two step-sons, Dwight Whipple of Ionia, and Clyde Whipple of
California, 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Stone-Kauffman funeral home in
Ionia with Rev. Ralph Kline officiating.  Interment will be at the Green cemetery.
