He was 79 years Old. Passed away in Durand at his Daughter’s Home. Rev. J. E. Butler was called to Green’s church to preach the funeral service of Manly Hale last Saturday. He died in Durand, aged 79 years 9 months and 8 days, and his remains were brought to Orleans. He was quite well known here and was a brother of Belding Hale of Crystal Lake. The deceased was born in the state of New York, he married Ann Eliza Bogardis and 8 children were born to them 5 of whom are living Adaline Kilbourn of Otisco, Adelno Hale of McBride Amelia Tanner Ionia, Luella Cole Durand and Charity Young of Port Huron. He experienced religion and joined the Free Methodist church in 1870 to which he has always been devoted. His wife preceeded him about two years ago. The remains were laid at rest in the Orleans cemetery.
