Elmer Leon Hale aged 87 of Saranac, MI passed away October 2, 2006.  He was 
born Jan 30, 1919, the son of Leon S. and Olive Leona ( Scott) Hale.  He 
married Leona Zahm June 25, 1977 in Saranac.  He was a member of the Moose 
Lodge 1939 of Greenville. Elmer lived and farmed in Saranac all of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Leona Hale of Saranac; Children 
Patricia and Larry Wittenbach of Iron Mountain, Donna and William Newell of 
Saranac, Jackie and Fran Borup of Saranac, Dan and Blanche Hale of Saranac, 
Beverly and John Thome of Kalamazoo, and Nancy and Jay Offenbacher of Saranac; 
brothers Roger and Muriel Hale of Lowell, and Lloyd and Karen Hale of Newaygo; 
sister Vivian Dent of Lansing and 15 Grandchildren and 15 great 
Grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by 2 brothers Phlorus and Jack and 1 
sister Marian.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday at Saranac Community Church 
with Rev. Frank Lattimore officiating. The family will receive friends and 
relatives 2-4 and 7-8:30 P.M. Thursday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Anyone 
wishing to make memorial contributions to The American Diabetes Association or 
Day Bible Church.
