Hale, a lifelong resident of Ionia county, were held from the home, 216 East Main street Monday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Fr. Edwin G. White officiating. Bearers were Alex Robertson, Emery Townsend, Myron Brown, William Toan, Ed Yeomans and A. J. Schamehorn. The numerous flowers were in the charge of Miss Gertrude Zank and Mrs. Fred S. Howard. Interment was at the Lyons cemetery. Besides the old friends and schoolmates from Lyons and nearby towns that attended, there were many out-of-town relatives and friends including Mrs. Derua Cranston, of Pomeroy, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. George Willard, Lawrence and Martha, and Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Pray, of Ann Arbor; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Schamehorn of Milford; Dr. and Mrs. Richard L. Benedict of West Branch; Mrs. W. H. Sherwood and daughter, Beatrice of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Willard, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Paul, and Clarence VanEtten, of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beech of Charlotte; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson, Mrs. Norma Frost, Doris Church and Chester Church, of Lowell; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knox, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knox, Jr., Fred Rowe and Mr. Martin, of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Staines and Mr. and Mrs. Kimball of Fenwick, and Mark Stevens of Carson City; T. G. Mercer and daughter, Rachel of Saranac, and Mr. and Mrs. William Toan, Portland.
