The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 17, 1975

Joseph M. Halik, Sr., 61, of Grand Rapids died Monday morning at St. Mary’s 
hospital in Grand Rapids.  He had been a patient the past five days.  Born in 
Ionia, October 14, 1913, he was the son of Martin and Anna Gall Halik, Sr.  He 
attended the SS. Peter and Paul academy.  He was married to Hazel Everett in 
Grand Rapids in 1941.

Surviving besides the wife, Hazel, are a son, Joseph, Jr., of Grand Rapids; 
two daughters, Mrs. Gail Levy of Hamilton, Ohio; and Anna Mary Halik of Grand 
Rapids; brother, Martin of Ionia, four sisters, Mrs. Anna Durak of Lyons; Mrs. 
Rose Batson of Ionia, Mrs. Lillian Neustifter of Ionia and Mrs. Angelian 
Barker of Lansing.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the SS. Peter and Paul church 
of Ionia.  Rev. Edward Orlowski will officiate and interment will be at the 
Mt. Olivet cemetery.  The body is at the Leddick funeral home.
