All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Suanne Tasker stasker@cmsinter.net December 31, 2012, 9:17 pm Sentinel-Standard, September 7, 1923 The entire community of Palo and in fact Ionia county, are saddened by the untimely death of Miss Reta Hall, 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Hall, who passed away in the Ann Arbor hospital Thursday. Miss Hall, who had bee a resident of Ronald pratically all her life, was one of the beautiful characters, who was universally loved, and magnatized all, by her cheerful disposition and keen determination. She graduated from the Palo school with the class of 1922, and has since attended the Mt. Pleasant normal. The beginning of her illness which culminated in her death began last September, when she was operated upon for mastoid trouble, and while she didn't get well she continued her school work throughout the summer school, and while there, August 17, submitted to another operation in Mount Pleasant, but continued to fail and was later taken, as a last resort, to Ann Arbor, and for the third time she was under the care of a surgeon, hoping to save her life, but an abscess had formed upon her brain and in spite of the efforts made, she lost in the fight. Besides her parents, she leaves one sister, Nita Hall, three brothers, Carl, Ben and Fay, many relatives and an unlimited number of friends, who will mourn her loss. The body will be brought to Ionia.
