Hall, steward at the Michigan Reformatory for almost a quarter century, died at 9:15 o’clock Wednesday night. His health had been failing for several years, but it was only three weeks ago that he gave up work. He was 65 years old at the time of death. Mr. Hall was born in Marion, N.Y. His family moved to Michigan when he was seven years old, settling near Ovid. It was at Ovid that he married Miss Mary Eva French, who survives him. They came to Ionia 25 years ago, and he was employed immediately by the Reformatory. A year and a half later he received the position of steward, which he held until his death. Four children survive—Mrs. Frederick Bowen of Chicago, Mrs. Lawrence Taylor of Kalamazoo, Miss Nellie Hall of this city, and Herbert Hall of PawPaw. All but Mrs. Bowen were with him at the time of his death. His sister, Miss Mary E. Hall of Ovid, and Mrs. Hall’s brother, Frank French of Lansing, are also here.
