Robert Irvin Hall, 89, of Grattan, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at his home under
the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice.  Robert was born July
13, 1920, near Belding, the son of Irvin and Jennie Towne Hall.

He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1938 and later proudly
served his country in the United States Army from Aug. 17, 1942, to March 1,
1946, as a private first class and was stationed in Europe.  He was a longtime
member of American Legion Post 203 in Belding.  Robert was a life-long farmer
and also worked for 37 years at Extruded Metals in Belding.

He was married on Nov. 15, 1946, in Belding to Joanne Cahoon, and she preceded
him in death on July 28, 2000.  He was also preceded in death by his parents;
his son, Dan Hall; a granddaughter, Twiget; his son-in-law, Gary; and one
brother, Leonard Hall.  He is survived by his children, Tom and Kathy Hall of
Belding, Diane and David Corey of Grattan, Sue and Jon Bailey of Sheridan, Peggy
Hall of Grattan; daughter-in-law, Penny Hall of Grattan; 14 grandchildren and 24
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethelyn and Cliff Greenhoe of Sheridan,
Margaret Nelson of Greenville; and his sister-in-law, Agnes Hall of Belding.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, visitation and funeral services will be
private.  Interment will be in Ashley Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be
given to the American Cancer Society or Spectrum Health Hospice.  Envelopes will
be available at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, who has been
entrusted with Robert’s care.
