Leonard was born Oct. 28, 1906, in Grattan Township, the son of Ralph and Myra Barber Hall. Leonard was a member of the Belding-Ionia Masonic Lodge No. 355 F&AM and First Baptist Church of Belding. He was married on March 29, 1930, in Lansing to Clara Webb. Leonard and his wife owned and operated the Firestone Store in Belding for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, in 1991; first wife, Leona Dalton, in 1928; brother, Oscar, in 1973; son, Richard, in 1995; and great-great-grandson, Timothy, in 2004. Leonard is survived by his children, Ruth and Richard Hanes of Lansing, Ralph Hall of Palm Springs, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Dessie Hall of Belding; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral and committal services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Interment is in Mount Hope Cemetery, Lansing. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alvah N. Belding Library building fund or Shiloh Community Church.
