He was born in Greenville on July 23, 1949 the son of Carol Kenneth and Florence Jean (Spencer) Hall. He graduated from Belding High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He worked in custodial services for school districts in Kansas and Michigan and worked, for several years, in small engine repair and maintenance for Plainfield Lumber. He cherished his time playing board games with family and friends, was a regular visitor at the VFW and other veterans clubs, and watched old war movies on television whenever he could. He was an avid guitar and harmonica player, and enjoyed singing karaoke so much that he bought a karaoke set up for each of his children so he wouldn’t have to carry his around when he visited them. Spencer leaves to cherish in his memory, his dear family, including his mother, Florence Hall; children, Laura (Andy) Feldpausch of Fowler, Daniel (Jamie) Hall of Ionia, Lisa (Greg) Slocum of Saranac, Trina (Charlie) Fyan of Ionia, Patricia (Brandon) Hall of Ionia, Monica (Wes) VanBuren of Lyons, Thomas Hall of Battle Creek and Chelsea (Shawn) Reed of Crystal; 27 grandchildren; twp great grandchildren with another one on the way; two sisters, Mary (Floyd) Conley and Linda (Lloyd) Loper; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carol Kenneth Hall in 1976. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding. Interment with Military Honors is being planned at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek. Those planning an expression of sympathy are welcomed to consider a memorial contribution in Spencer’s memory to the wishes of the family.
