Ionia Sentinel Standard - 27 April 1936
Henry J. Hall, 92, died Sunday morning, April 26 at the home of his son Guy in 
Detroit.

Mr. Hall was the eldest son of Joshua and Sarah Hall, who came here as early 
pioneers from Connecticut and he was born August 28, 1843 in Ionia Township. 
April 12, 1865 he was married to Cordelia N. Higbee who was also a resident of 
Ionia county, her parents coming from New York state.  Mrs. Hall died about 15 
years ago.  Mr. Hall was a prominent farmer and all his life up to 15 years ago 
had been spent in Ionia County.  He was a member of the Woodard Lake Christian 
church and later joined the Church of Christ in Ionia.  After the death of his 
wife he moved to Detroit where he lived with his son.

He leaves besides his son, Guy, of Detroit, one sister, Mrs. Ed. Higbee; one 
brother Luther E. Hall, who is critically ill; three grandchildren and seven 
great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, April 28, 
from the Stone funeral home at 2:30 o'clock.  Rev. Paul Steward will officiate 
and interment will be at the Higbee cemetery.
