The pall bearers were Spanish War veterans and were Harlow Joslyn, Harry Rice, Bert Haight, Byron Smith, Otto Zander and Bert Shattuck. The service at the grave was under the auspices of the Oddfellows, about thirty of that lodge attending the funeral. The interment was in Portland cemetery and about thirty carriages followed the body to the grave. The church at Orange was filled to its capacity and the service was conducted by Rev. Simmons. Music was furnished by the choir of the church.
