While unloading coal at one of the elevators a couple of weeks ago he received a slight scratch on one of his arms. It developed into a bad case of blood poisoning later and for several hours before his death it became evident he could not survive. His wife also contracted the disease while attending him, but her case it not as serious. “Bill” Hall, as he was familiarly known all over this part of the county, lead a most active life until recent years. He was a well digger by trade and put down many wells in this vicinity. Then he engaged in the draying business and for several years carried the mail and express. After the death of his wife he disposed of his dray line and moved to Lyons township, residing near his daughter, Mrs. Roy Buck. It was while living there that he married Miss Nettie Walter, who survives him. The couple have two young children. Mrs. Buck was a daughter by the first wife, whose maiden name was Frances Manning. After returning to this village Mr. Hall, advanced in years, and with much of his old vitality gone, worked industriously, but only at such odd jobs as he could do. He was 67 years old and was born in Orange township. Funeral arrangements had not been made yesterday morning when the Review went to press. Subsequent Publication: Tuesday, September 17, 1918 Card of Thanks: We desire to thank each and every one who so kindly assisted us in so many different ways during the sickness and after the death of husband and father. May God bless them is our sincere prayer. Mrs. Nettie Hall and family.
