Halladay, 93 of Portland went to be with the Lord on June 30, 1999. She was born Dec. 17, 1905, in Portland, the daughter of Oscar and Maud (Cotton) Hamlin. Mrs. Halladay was a member of First Baptist Church in Portland and was a teacher in Sebewa for many years retiring in 1970. Surviving are her son, Paul (Sharon) of Woodland, and granddaughters, Kristen (Mark) Tonello of Mt. Pleasant, Kimberly Halladay of Spring Arbor, and Karrie Halladay of Woodland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1962, and brothers Russell and Richard Hamlin. Services were conducted by the Rev. Donald J. Chapel and Rev. James Howard, pastor, July 3 at First Baptist Church, Portland, with committal following in East Sebewa Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Michigan Christian Home, 1845 Boston St., S.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49506 in memory of Mildred M. Halladay.
