Ionia County News, 6 Sep 1956

Ned D. Halsted, of Ionia, widely known retired fur buyer, died Thursday 
evening, September 30, while attending a service at the Baptist Church at 
Lyons, where he was a trustee.  He was 66.

He slumped over towards his wife, Rita, who was with him and collapsed on her 
shoulder.  Death was declared due to a heart attack.  Mr. Halsted was 
hospitalized earlier this year for treatment of a heart ailment.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 3 from the Lyons Baptist Church.  
Burial was in the Lyons cemetery.

Surviving besides the widow are a son, Clifford, of Muir; one daughter, Mrs. 
Maynard Conklin, Lansing; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Bogert, Lyons, and three 
brothers, Walter and Clint, of Muir, and Ford, of Ionia.
