Greenville Independent, 17 May 1877

Died – In the State of Missouri, whither she had gone hoping to improve her 
health, Harriet E., wife of Newcumb Halstead of this city.  Her death occurred 
on Sunday, May 13th.  Her remains were brought home, and the funeral took place 
at her late residence.

The deceased was the daughter of Job and Anna Gibbs, well known as pioneers in 
the township of Otisco.  She was 29 years of age, had been married seven years 
and leaves one child.  Those who knew her the most intimately best knew her 
worth and how to prize it.
