Cliff Halsted, 81, of Muir was ushered into the presence of his Lord on March 
3, 2002.

He was born on April 1, 1920 in Muir, the son of Ned and Ruth (Stark) Halsted.  
He was employed by General Tire as a supervisor.  

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany where he received a 
Purple Heart.  He attended Maranatha Baptist Church in Sebring, Fla. and 
Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church in Ionia.

He loved working with wood and shared the fruit of his labor with many people.  
He loved to fish, hunt, trap, play golf and go camping.  The love he had for 
his family and friends was evident in all he did and we loved him dearly in 
return.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Halsted of Muir; children Dave 
(Bev) Halsted of Muir, Dick (Ruth) Halsted of Westphalia and Ruth (Steve) Carr 
of Sunfield; grandchildren, Valerie (Mark) Boward of Ionia, Kris (Dennis) 
Martin of Owosso, Jeff (Robin) Halsted of Indian River, Tom (Tia) Halsted of 
Leslie, Jennifer (Daniel) Baker of Rockwell, N.C., and Chad Carr of Pensacola, 
Fla.; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alicia, Victoria Rose and Priscilla 
Boward, Rachelle, Carissa, and Daric Martin, Brianna and Jeffery Halsted, 
Brianna and Jeffery Halsted, and Seth, Kelsie and Kayla Halsted.

A funeral service will be held for Cliff at 11 a.m., Friday at the Lincoln Ave. 
Baptist Church with his grandson, Pastor Jeff Halsted and Pastor Darren Tharp 
officiating.  Interment Oakwood Cemetery in Muir.  Visitation will be from 2 
p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia.

Throughout his life, his main desire was to give honor and glory to his Lord 
and Savior Jesus Christ.
