Lyons Herald, 10 Jul 1913

We are pained to be forced to announce the death of Frank Halstead, which 
occurred at his home, west of Pewamo, his demise being caused by cancer of the 
bowels, and from which he suffered untold agonies until the grim reaper came to 
end his sufferings for him.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home of his father, Henry 
Halstead, and the interment was made in the Lyons cemetery.  Rev. Judd of Lyons 
preached the funeral discourse and spoke many beautiful words of comfort to the 
wife and six little ones who are left behind to mourn the loss of a kind and 
faithful husband and loving father.

The deceased was but 33 years of age and was a hard working young man, who will 
be greatly missed in the community in which he has resided for several years.  
Besides the wife and children mentioned he leaves a father and mother, four 
brothers, and one sister to mourn his sad leave taking.
