Florence R. Halsted, 84, of 738 Hunt St., Lyons, died early Tuesday morning at 
the Ionia Manor.  she was born Dec. 23, 1898, in Gratiot County, the daughter 
of George and Roana Guernsey.  She attended the rural schools.  She was married 
to Clint Halsted in March 1916, who preceded her in death in March 1971.  They 
lived for many years in Lyons Township, moving to Lyons in 1963.  She was a 
member of the Lyons Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Raymond of Lansing; Mrs. Pearl 
Krueger of Muir; and Mrs. Aleta Swick of Lansing; 13 grandchildren, 14 step-
grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  One 
daughter, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lyons Baptist Church with Rev. 
Paul Carmichael officiating.  Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.  Until noon 
Friday, she will repose at the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir, where a memorial 
for Lyons Baptist Church has been established.  Contributions may be left at 
the funeral home.
