The body will be at the Shaw-Rivett Hull funeral home in Muir until noon. Burial will be at Lyons cemetery. State police and Coroner Richard Hull were called to the home and said death was due to self inflicted gunshot wounds. He was born October 21, 1944 the son of Walter and Leona Halsted and graduated from Lyons high school in 1962. February of 1963 he enlisted in the United States navy and was discharged in 1965. He has been employed at Oldsmobile in Lansing. In January 1968 he was married to Joyce Lake who survives, as do one stepson, Winfred Compton; one brother, Donald of New Jersey; four sisters, Mrs. Lois Maxwell of Midland; Mrs. Joyce Cummings of route one Lyons, Mrs. Leona Currigan of Lansing, Mrs. Marjorie Swainston of California; mother, Mrs. Leona Halsted. His father and one brother, Jerry preceded him in death.
