John Tennyson of First Baptist church officiating. Mr. Halsted was preceded in death in 1933 by his wife, the former Hazel Maynard of Lowell to whom he was married in 1919, and is survived by their daughter, Pauline. He was later married in 1937 in Ionia to Winifred Johnson who survives. Interment was at Lyons cemetery. Bearers were Bruce Wolverton, Frank Bennett, Keith Ingelehart, Arthur Fox, Wallace Perrien and Norman Ketner. CCW class of First Baptist church attended in a group, also member of Ionia Lions. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Muriel Hague and Harold Jones. The flag was folded at the cemetery by Keith Inglehart and Arthur Fox and presented to Mrs. Halsted by Mr. Fox. Masonic orders conducted services at the funeral home Sunday afternoon. Friends and relatives attended from Lyons, Muir, Belding, Orleans, Greenville, Palo, Hubbardston, Perrinton, Portland, Lansing, East Lansing, DeWitt, Williamston, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, LaGrange, Il., and Havertown, Pa.
