Halsted, 91, died at 9 o’clock Monday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Bogert, in Lyons after a lingering illness. She had been moved to the home of her daughter Saturday from the home of a son, Clinton of north of Lyons where Mrs. Bogert had been caring for her. She and her husband came to Lyons many years ago from Bloomer township in Montcalm county and they lived on a farm northeast of Lyons. Her husband, the late Henry C. Halsted, died several years ago. She was a member of the Lyons Methodist church. Surviving her are four sons, Walter S. of Ronald, Ned D. and Ford of Ionia and Clinton of North Plains; the daughter, Mrs. Bogert of Lyons; and several grandchildren. Two other children, Frank and Emma, preceded her in death and another child died at birth. The body was removed to the Shaw-Rivett funeral chapel in Muir. Funeral services will be announced at a later date. ---------- Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock for Mrs. Mary Halsted who died earlier last week at her home in Lyons. The services were held from the Lyons Methodist church with the Rev. Myron Hoyt officiating. Interment was at the Lyons cemetery. Rev. Earl Buffum, pastor of Lyons Baptist church, gave the prayer. Music was in charge of Mrs. George Steadman of Lyons and Plyn Woodworth of Muir with Mrs. Hoyt as accompanist. Hymns sung were requested by Mrs. Halsted before her death. Bearers included William Anderson, Clifford Halsted of Muir, Edward Kemp, Robert Dast and Maynard Conklin, all of Lansing, and Leonard Johnson of Grand Rapids. Among those from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kent, Miss Aleta Halsted, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dast, Gerald Swainston, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Conklin, all of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Halsted, Mrs. Rich Bogart, Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Halsted and Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Halsted, Mr. and Mrs. Burdett Brigham all of Muir. Mr. and Mrs. William Jacobs of northeast of Ionia. Mr. and Mrs. Laudenbeck, Mrs. R. Osborne, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cook, all of Maple Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Young of Perrinton, Albert Nichols and Mrs. Walter Dockham of St. Johns, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Halsted, Mr. and Mrs. Ford Halsted of Ionia, Mr. and Mrs. Galan Smith of Bellevue, Mrs. Herman Marine of Battle Creek.
