Donald E. Halverson, 82, of Belding, formerly of Grand Rapids, died Tuesday, 
January 6, 2004 at Metron of Belding Nursing Home.  He was born September 1, 
1921 in Thompson, Iowa, the son of Walter and Clara Ellickson Halverson.  

He was a member of the Church of Christ of Grandville.  Donald was married on 
May 29, 1945 to Lucille Roberson in Comanche, Oklahoma.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.  He is survived by his 
wife, Lucille; their children, James W. and Jackie Halverson of Pittsburg, 
Illinois, Rick A and Sue Halverson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Donny and Cheryl 
Halverson of Rio Rico, Arizona, John P. Halverson, Linda and Michael Lehman, 
all of Grand Rapids; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren;  and sister, 
Margaret Countryman of Tucson, Arizona.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, Grandville, with 
Pastor Russ Holden officiating.  Interment is in Grandville Cemetery.  
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, 
memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of West 
Michigan.  The family is being service by Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding.
