She was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on November 22, 1922 the daughter of the late William Zion and Ada (Anderson) Hobbs. She married Henry Albert "Ab" Hamblin on February 27, 1940 at the Gospel Baptist Church in Whitley County, Kentucky. She moved to Michigan in the mid 1940's with her husband and their two children. In earlier years she worked at Jolly Kids and later at General Motors on Alpine Ave. for over 30 years. She enjoyed purchasing and "turning over" old houses with her husband and going with him on the weekends for his many guitar band gigs. After retirement she enjoyed many winters golfing in Mesa, Arizona with Ab, bargain shopping and setting up her yearly summer garage sales in Belding. She loved meeting new people and had a real knack for salesmanship, which was inherited by her son, Donald. Polly had an immense love of family and friends and will be greatly missed. She attended the Shiloh Church, the Belding Church of God and most recently, the Ashley Baptist Church in Belding. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Shirley Ann (Hamblin) Boyce, son, Donald L. Hamblin and brothers, Preston "Zeke" Hobbs and William Zion "Junior" Hobbs and her sisters, Kathryn (Hobbs) Tye and Mildred Oneeda (Hobbs) Carter.She is survived by her sister, Deloris Imogene Hobbs Henegar (Farrell) in Longwood, Florida, daughter-in-law, Sharon (Bowler) Hamblin in Belding and her grandchildren, Dr. Jodi Hamblin (Dr. Robert Camp), Donald J Hamblin, Gregory S. Hamblin and great- grandchildren, Melanie, Brendan, Maggie and Mary. Funeral and committal prayers will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will take place in the spring at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Great Lakes Caring Hospice of Michigan or the Belding Food Pantry.
