The Ionia County News, Thursday, October 27, 1960
Herman Hamilton, age 83, passed away Sunday morning, October 9, at his home, 
rural Vestaburg, near Cedar Lake.  He was born November 20, 1877, the son of 
Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Hamilton at Charlotte.  In November 1901 he was married to 
Alta Johnson.  They lived on the former John York farm, now where Mr. and Mrs. 
John Bush live on Johnson Rd. and also in Belding.  They moved to rural 
Vestaburg, near Cedar Lake, about 25 years ago.

Two children preceded him in death.  Survivors are his wife, Alta, one sister, 
Mrs. Laura Coates of Freeland and two brothers, Hiram and Leland of Freeland.  
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Stebbins Funeral Home at 
Edmore and burial was in Orleans Cemetery.
